i remember when trunk was just some chinese place. sure it was expensive (it's on exhibition - what the fuck do you expect?). now, though, trunk has taken on a decidedly Italian flavour to their chinese food. and there's no more chinese food. craziest chinese restaurant I've ever been to. lets just say it's italian and move on.

the evening started before we got to trunk. i'm pretty sure the intention wasn't to skull the second glass of wine but the taxi was early and whose going to waste a nice pinot gris? i fully intended to keep with the wine theme that night but there were other plans. lets call her an outside influence. i was forced to order two long island iced teas. exceptionally well made, good alcohol content, a good year. if you've ever had one of these drinks (drink of the gods, i'd say) you will know that one is enough to have you a bit woozy, two makes your face numb, and three causes you to lose the power of coherent speech. sure, you can still talk but nobody can understand a fucking word you say. awesome.

and so with numb face i believe i ordered dinner. but who can really say. liit was the flavour of the top of the table so it's anyone's guess how we got any food at all. but when the food did miraculously arrive it was top class. I even managed to generate some food envy with my other half. hehehe. i don't remember if we had dessert but the coffee was up to par. a delightful night, professional staff, delicious food. i must go back when sober to really enjoy what trunk has to offer. two thumbs and a drunken lopsided smirk. it doesn't get any better than that!!
