cafe greco (no, my mistake, now it's "greco european grill at crown") - crown complex (i'm sure you know where it is) 9686 9733

once famous for being the home of bad smells and fart jokes, cafe greco has been renovated. i'm not exactly sure when the renovations occurred, but definitely since i was last there. whenever that was. the menu no longer has horiatikes patates on it, which is kind of a bitch, coz that was my favourite.

the food is still good, but the menu is now a bit limited (but not in the dessert department, natch) and somewhat overpriced. i know, it's the cas, but i have to say that your money is better spent at automatic. even if the bar tender there is a wanker who thinks you will have sex with him after he sends you stupid text messages about how he is going to delete your number- but then doesn't!! (look, it's a long story, and it's best you don't get involved, k?)

not even i am snob enough (take note nicandlance) to pay ten bucks for a teensy bottle of water. seriously- i asked for some water, and i get bottled water which has a label saying "make sure you check the bill when you're leaving because you have been raped- i have just cost you at least $10" (or something very similar.) in fact, it cost $4.90, but like- it's fucking water!!

ten points go to the waiter who doesn't double-check (at least not obviously) when i tell him that our pepper shaker is, in fact, filled with salt. he swaps it over with an apology. but then, seeing as how i wasn't lying about the saltfilledness, marks should be deducted accordingly.

so yeah. expensive, but good if you're talent scouting- especially since if you sit outside you'll get a good view of the waterfront waiters. . and check the grinders for corresponding letter/spice accuracy.
