after a fucked up day, a really really fucked up day, wood fired pizza is the only option. or at least it's high on the list of places to go. pizze (e fichi) comes highly recommended. for pizza. apparently the pasta is good too but i didn't try it that night. it was pizza all the way.

you know the way you can get stuffed crust pizza and deep pan pizza from some other establishments? the ones that are basically fried in cheese and destined to clog your arteries the moment you take a bite. well, pizzas at pizze are the other kind, the razor thin type that you can cut yourself on. don't get me wrong, i love the super thin pizza that you have to use both hands to eat. and with the wood fired oven in the middle of the restaurant, it's a nice place to eat.

now i've always wanted to order the chocolate pizza but i always see the menu too late and have filled up on free bread and pizza. this time, though, the choc-pizza was on. the trouble is i can't understand fruit for dessert. if you're going to have dessert it should have enough fat to choke a donkey. pizze's chocolate pizza comes with berries so understandably i tried to order it without said fruit. no go. 'ok', i said, 'take the pizza, add the chocolate and then don't add the fruit'. 'we can't do that blah blah blah' is all i heard. anyway, i went along with the charade (too tired to go a third round with the brain trust) and the pizza arrived with...chocolate and fruit that had been added after the pizza was baked. now paint me brown and call me a chocolate pizza but surely they could have just, like, not added the fruit?!! it's at times like these that i know i will never go hungry...

wine was crap, though, so don't go expecting anything special. apparently there is a scary tattoo girl there so look out for her...and be afraid.
