aqua is an awesome place. there's an open (fake) fire. a fire comfortable with itself. a fire that doesn't pretend to be anything it isn't. they have a couple of sofas around the fire for a glass of wine and, yes, more dessert. aqua was the final stop in the epic that was dessert day and I have to say that all other eating places paled by comparison with aqua. have i said aqua enough yet. a...qua.

anyhoo, there was a very attentive waiter/manager/owner who recommended wines, allowed us to taste before decision. great for us indecisive types. in fact, i reckon we could have got completely smashed on tasting only. 'chan i schtry thothr red wun agin?' sadly we missed that opportunity but there's always next time.

there were rockin cheeses, very nice sticky wines and vanilla coffees. i'm not so sure about the coffees - the jury is out. or pissed. or fired.

funny fucking thing is that aqua is linked to the hotel upstairs so i reckon that you could pretend to staying at aqua so you stick the charges on your 'room'.

'what room are you staying in?'
'456...2...eh..1. did i say 8? yeah 8.'

not quite sure what all the extra tables and chairs are for. perhaps summer makes use of the extras. we shall have to wait and see. in the meantime i recommend that you try it out. you won't be sorry. quirky. bubbly waitresses and all.
