for me summer in lorne is all knotted sweaters and pastels. i mean there are some great, down-to-earth eating places but the general feel of the place is all bmw, 2.5 kids and everything in shades of yellow, blue and pink. winter however is a different story. only the hardiest holidayers make the effort. bless their volvo sports utility vehicles.

lorne pier seafood restaurant is at the start of the famous lorne pier (what the hell else would it be called) which is currently being rebuilt. it's warm, friendly and the food is awesome. did i say that? yes i did. we had oysters (i will kill you and step over your body for good oysters) and some great fish. and a waiter who can handle 10 tables without running and sweating. stunning work. you get to see the chef at work while you eat.

thoroughly recommend lorne pier. great wine, great fish and of course those oysters that could result in a homicide.
