grandma funks - 256 swan street richmond 3121 9421 0510

i have heard this shit before. not great but points for trying. you don't get any points here. cold eggs, cold toast, slow service, the big brekky was mis-named. extra-medium at most. the waiters were waiting for something, but it wasn't us.

ok, the coffee was great. but that's all we're giving them. and don't bother writing in to tell us how stupid it sounds to say there's nothing good about this place and then saying the coffee is fab. we can say what we damn well please.

a twelve dollar discount given after complaining about the cold food doesn't make for a better breakfast, but at least it's cheaper. we have heard good reports previously about grandma funks, so maybe it's only that granny is a bit cranky in the mornings. granny seems to have a sweet tooth because the cakes she makes will satisfy any chocolate craving. maybe it's just that, like most old people, breakfast consists of cold toast and weak tea. and maybe gran's just too old to bother serving other people any more - a bit of the 'you're old enough and ugly enough to get it yourself'.

get off my lawn you young hooligans!

has anybody seen my glasses?

  1. bigmouth, you're so right about grandma's breakfasts. dinners are much the same. as a table of 6, we all ordered at the same time, but some of the group had finished eating before others had even got their meal. very disorganised. if you're going to grandma's, go for coffee and cake. at least they do that right. lovergirl thinks the waiters are pretty hot. i've seen better heads on a beer. cheers !
