greville bar - 143 greville street prahran 3181 9529 4800
located in a back street off the main chapel street drag, you can barely hear the thump of subwoofers from the holden camiras. the greville bar is on a corner next to a small park and you could easily walk past it if you're not paying attention or are just shitfaced. go here if you like semi-naked transvestites attending private parties upstairs and the barperson smashing glasses every few minutes.
does it have all the ingredients necessary to make it a trendy eatery in the heart of prahran? who gives a shit! you can get some great starters from the specials board but the main menu lacks a little in the way of recognisable food. the wine menu exceeds the food menu in volume only - we picked a pretty heavy red and left more than half of it. that's unusual for us to say the least.
and what is it with all the smashing glasses and bottles? is it absolutely necessary to obliterate all glass items when they are soiled?! i dont think so. a few less coffees mr. barperson (and a lot more work on the agression management). the seats need a special mention because they can go from comfy to bum numb in 10 minutes flat. not a record i assure you. cinema and airline seats hold those. but you would expect a degree of comfort and 'give' to allow your cheeks to spread as opposed to flatten. one word for ya - upholstery
