g&ts on the chippendale sofa in the window, personal and attentive service, good food.. what's wrong with this picture? the fact that there's nothing else in the picture - this place is an oasis in the culinary wasteland that exists in fitzroy : nicholson st.

here's a story - 'old people go home because management has changed' i shit you not! six people, understandably in their old age (about fifty which is fucking old to me), came in, looked around bewildered (more than usual), asked where the owner was. they got upset when they found out he had sold up 9 months ago. and apparently he lived next door to them. talk about a pregnant pause. they left with their wine and their walking frames without eating. because the owner had given them the slip nine months ago. is he trying to tell them something? you decide.

we had some sort of seafood. we must have had because it's franco's seafood restaurant. i really like the idea of a full bar restaurant. what if i don't like wine? i'll have a double g&t while i read the menu. it's a cool red bar too, funky warehouse style with exposed brick. crap. we can't remember what it was like. i know it's not fair but we'll just have to go back again and review it properly. stay tuned - or not.
