i tell you, it's a good thing that i didn't waste my short skirt on this place, because the waiters here are utterly talentless. disappointing really, because i've been doing so well. speaking of which, did i tell you that paul the infamous barman handed over a blank slip of torn off receipt roll with his phone number on it last time i was at automatic? did i nearly faint with shock? why yes... yes, i did. right after i pissed myself laughing. paul, honey, i know you want to have sex with me, but look- get in line like everyone else, eh?

anyway, airstream is rather a lot like automatic... just a bit more suburban... (yes, it still rocks here, thanks for asking.) i wasn't game to ask for an espresso martini, but they did have a drink called "funky spunk" and what can i say? the name was calling to me... i had to have one. and no, it didn't taste like it. there wasn't even any pineapple in it... obv whoever put the cocktail list together here is a bit clueless- too much time in the suburbs do you think? actually (and speaking of drinks), there used to be a waiter here a few years ago who remembered what i drank and would offer it to me when i sat down. i always thought that was rather cute- after all, there must be millions of girls who come in asking for a quick fuck, mustn't there?

not to get distracted though- the food here is good. there are plenty of meal options, as well as a heap of lighter snacks so that you can order a heap of stuff and share. the pizzas are also fairly decent- much like automatic, really. are you seeing the similarities? even the names sound the same. automatic... airstream.... hrmmm.... of course, you don't have to be quite as gay to work at airstream- it seems they really do hire you based on your ability, because i always have a fairly attentive waiter. (note how i cleverly avoid using the word "talented" here... they're not talented- see paragraph 1.)

also, i should make a mention of the dessert here- they always have a display case loaded with a wide variety of cakes and most of the time you can't go wrong with any of them. so make sure you save some room, eh?

in short, this place is recommended. not quite as good as coco, but ehhh... they both have their moments. airstream is quite a bit bigger so you can generally get a table, without too much wait time. and if you're going to be there anyway, have a funky spunk and a quick fuck and think of me. cheers.
