middle cafe and bar - 20-22 armstrong street middle park 3206 9699 6082

nothing makes me happier than to rock up to a cafe at 3pm and be presented with the breakfast menu. well, i'm sure there are other things that make me happy too but late breakfast beats most of them. except os, yes, yes, except that.

my tomato for some reason became a large beef sausage but after no dinner the previous night and no breakfast that morning, i wasn't arguing. they do free-range eggs (eggs that roam free around the barnyard) and good breads. pancakes are sweet and muesli is, well, small bits of rubble and grit (not a big fan of muesli anywhere).

anyway, in spite of a really awkward date quite awhile back (we met there for the first time and boy was it awkward! nothing to say to each other. i took a leaf from ralfie's book - 'sooooo, do..you like....stuff?'. she didn't.), i still like the middle cafe and bar. i have to do a quick look around each time, just to make sure.

couple of chicks sat beside me and i thought they'd be interesting. or say something not boring. or something. but no. what has all this got to do with middle cafe? nothing except these are the people you are likely to meet there so brace yourself. i think i'd actaully have preferred if they were smoking so they couldn't get so many fucking boring words in.

the owner is a great waiter/manager/owner. he knows how to welcome customers, how long to wait at the table, when to come back. breakfast was great, coffees are great. funny that it ended up on the top of my list this afternoon but i'm glad it did. you will be too...
