little blue cafe - st kilda pier st kilda

the full menu is on, it's tapas only, it's on again, off again...will you make up your fucking mind. little blue (as i like to call it) is jammed in behind the rebuilt st kilda pier kiosk. now i'm not an architect (no really, and i wouldn't tell you anyway in case you tried to track me down) but why in the hell would you spend a bunch of money rebuilding the weatherboard kiosk that burned down three years ago and then shove a steel and glass cafe right behind it?

what's bloody funny is that if you're in the kiosk, you have to sit in a different area to the cafe seated area. if you have a kiosk table number you have to stay over there! not here! there! over there!! but it's nice to be on the water, sort of a try-hard sydney experience. it could be so much more - like if they could just decide which fucking menu is on today.

what else, ehhhh, a table next to us on high beams, it's all out there, showing it off, and not the perky type either - yikes! a foreign couple (we reckon dutch) next to us did the 'here's a photo of us in front of xyz' thing after debating the menu for twenty minutes. i finally had to stand up and offer to take the photo just to get them to sit down.

we almost scored two free drinks, meant for someone else's table, and then ordered two more drinks from the same guy who tried to deliver the freebies. he didn't look amused. obviously never heard of the saying the customer is always right even if the customer is always annoying.

little blue cafe - nice food and coffee if you can work out what is available. food planning not worth a shit 'we're out of that...and that...that too'. go with an open mind.
