well, times change, people move on, a bird in the hand, etc, etc. in short, cafe blac has turned around. it's owned by a couple who know what they're doing. out with the old, in with the new. my coffee is coffee-ish, my service service-ish. all is as it should be. i can't vouch for the brekkies but coffee is nicey nice and staff are smiley smiley.

i don't normally rewrite reviews. you only get one shot, do not miss your chance to blow. yes, i am eminem. but it's true. you give me shitful service and i will can your ass. but if someone new takes over the business - because let's face it, the previous owner sucked at it and is now driving forklifts in a wrecker's yard for $5 an hour - they should be given the same chance to impress or depress (implied, lisa, or implode?). and i must say, i am impressed.

it's just such a bloody great location in hawthorn. and it's always bugged me when i walked past how inadequate the blac used to be. but i love a turnaround story. boy meets girl. boy and girl get married. boy and girl buy a cafe business in hawthorn and make good. it's the classic story. i can't tell you how many times i've heard that exact story. well, i can, but that's not the point. support your local cafe - blac it up!
