i like automatic. every time we walk past it, automatic is open. it's owned by the same guy who owns blue train in southbank, blackbird in sydney and the new chocolate bhudda at federation square. mind you, you have to be weird to work there. and by weird we mean multiple piercings, coloured hair, tight t-shirt and walk around with a comms headset on your head. aside from that, they have a cool bar, tables practically on the riverfront and they don't give a shit what state you're in.

the menu is full of good snack-type meals, late breakfast, pizzas and even a dahl for those of you trying to keep your weight down - after 14 pints of beer. usually you can get a table pretty quickly though it gets more difficult if you have a big group and you haven't booked. good for pre-movie food, post piss-up food and pre-piss-up drinks, automatic is like a reliable old dog. just with weird hair and the odd butt-dragging. i love the place. make no mistake.
