is it dirty? you bet. grungy? uhuh. is everything on the menu served with chips? just about. we'd been to the commercial club a few times but always the red room was stuffed with people. incidentally the red room is painted red, with a low red sofa, red chairs and a low table. hence the name, idiot.

now, the question i ask myself is this - were we attracted to the red room because it has a sofa that even your parents would have been a little dubious about or was it the fact that it was always occupied when we were there. dont know - what i can say is that the red room promises much but fails to deliver. as we walked in last night the red room emptied and we found ourselves on the long sofa preparing to be carried away by all the mystique and charm the red room had to offer. what did we get? nothing. we had our g&ts (a passable 3 out of 5 because i had to ask for tall glasses twice but i didnt get a straw in mine) and then pissed off.

if you want grunge and weird people, go to the commercial club. a lively evening filled with your best drinking and merrymaking? go someplace else. it closes at 11pm too which earns it our contempt and ridicule.
